Effect of hydrogenated fat-embedded calcium gluconate on lactation performance in dairy cows

چکیده

Hydrogenated fat-embedded calcium gluconate (HFCG), a prebiotic mixture designed to target the hindgut, has improved milk and component yields when supplemented in mid-lactation cows, likely due hindgut health. The objective of this study was evaluate production responses HFCG fed dairy cattle over full lactation. Seventy-four Holstein cows (21 primiparous, 53 multiparous) were used randomized complete block design comparing supplementation with (approximately 16 g/day supplement delivering approximately 6.4 g active ingredient) negative control from 21 days prior calving until end In multiparous HFCG, average daily protein yield ( P = 0.037) increased during first 8 weeks lactation, while fat, fat- energy-corrected tended ≤ 0.075) increase same period time. Increased supported by concurrent dry matter intake 0.036). Future work is needed characterize mode action product within both lumen host, as well investigate potential differential between primiparous animals course

Effect of corn snaplage on lactation performance by dairy cows

The objective of this study was to determine lactation performance by dairy cows fed corn snaplage either alone (SNAP) or in combination with ground dry shelled corn (SPDC) versus rolled high-moisture shelled corn (RHMC). Dry-matter content was greater for RHMC (78.2%) than SNAP (68.5%). The starch content of SNAP was approximately 10%-units lower than RHMC. Sixty Holstein cows (30 primiparous ...

Effect of Milking Frequency on the Lactation Performance and Lactation Curve of Holstein Dairy Cows in Iran

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of milking frequency (three times daily vs. two times daily) on the lactation curve shape, partial and 305-d lactation performance in Holstein dairy cows in Iran. Data from February 2000 to December 2012 comprising 217345 lactations on 141364 cows distributed in 324 herds collected by the Animal Breeding Center of Iran were used. The mean milk...

The effect of gestation and lactation on bone calcium, phosphorus and magnesium in dairy cows.

A study was conducted to monitor changes in cortical bone mineral in the dairy cow in response to demands of lactation and pregnancy using rib bone biopsies in serial sampling. Sixteen Friesian cows from the University dairy herd were used to collect 9 samples during the lactation period and 5 samples during the dry period. The data were analysed using a split-plot design analysis of variance. ...

Effect of different feeding strategies on lactation performance of Holstein and Normande dairy cows.

The dairy farming systems of Western Europe are based on a simple feeding system composed of grazed and preserved grass, maize silage and concentrates in variable proportions. There is, nevertheless, a great diversity of feeding strategies between dairy farms. Over 5 years, we studied the direct and delayed effects of four feeding strategies on the lactation and reproduction performances of Hol...

Effect of Live Yeast and Mannan-oligosaccharides on Performance of Early-lactation Holstein Dairy Cows

This study evaluated the effects of live yeast and yeast cell-wall mannan-oligosaccharide supplementation on performance and nutrient digestibility during early lactation in cows fed a diet based on a mixture of corn silage and alfalfa hay as forage sources. Eight multiparous Holstein dairy cows (average days in milk, 27±6) were used in a replicated 4×4 Latin square design. Diets contained 45% ...
